Ukraine: attacks on Obukhivskyi, Kharkiv, Kyiv (20 October 2026)

Overnight and daytime Russian attacks struck multiple regions across Ukraine on 20 October 2026. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine received no early warning before a barrage of 16 ballistic missiles and drones hit Kyiv. Strikes and drone attacks caused casualties and damage in locations including Kyiv and the surrounding region, Kharkiv, Kramatorsk, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, Dnipro, Sumy, and Kremenchuk. Officials reported multiple fatalities and injuries, including deaths in the Kyiv region, Kharkiv region, Kramatorsk, Khmelnytskyi, and Sumy, alongside infrastructural damage to medical facilities, warehouses, residential buildings, and a shopping centre.
