Ukrainian border guards demonstrate armed Frodo ground robot
A Ukrainian border guard unit reported a weapons demonstration involving an unmanned ground vehicle in Kharkiv region.
Ukrainian border guards demonstrated the Frodo unmanned ground vehicle at a training ground in Kharkiv region, according to an account carried by Euromaidan Press.
The unit said the robot used an armed turret to engage targets at distances of up to 1.3 kilometres during the test. It described the exercise as familiarisation with robotic systems for its personnel.
The robotic platform was developed by Frontline Robotics. The demonstration was reported by the Pomsta Border Guard Brigade and involved reconnaissance support from an accompanying drone.
The manufacturer and military unit described the equipment's intended ability to undertake dangerous tasks remotely, helping reduce exposure of soldiers during operations.
The demonstration is not evidence that the vehicle has been deployed in combat or has achieved those results against enemy forces. Its reported technical performance remains attributed to the Ukrainian unit and developer.
